Aerowalkers have been designed to help in the following conditions: poor circulation, DVT, Oedema of feet and legs, lack of sensation, post fracture muscle recuperation, developing plantar pressure in recovering hemiplegics, sports injuries, foot injuries, pins and needles, etc.

Aerowalkers have been specially developed to meet general well being needs, enhancing circulatory activity during periods of rest, relaxation, recuperation or inactivity.

Aerowalkers help keep you active and maintain blood flow and muscle tone in your legs. Aerowalkers use a simple reflex action which requires relatively little attention and can be used when reading, watching TV, and on long haul flights. Aerowalkers are the kindest way to therapeutically relax your legs and feet whilst sitting down.

Further Testimonials -

"Having had the misfortune to suffer a ruptured Achilles tendon last July, which resulted in an operation I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to use Aerowalkers to aid my recovery.

Anyone who has experienced this type of injury will know that the recovery is a very slow painful process which goes into months of physio.

The Aerowalkers certainly aided in this as it is very important to resume the blood flow once out of plaster. The Aerowalkers enabled me to do this. The gentle action of rocking was just the right amount of exercise needed to build up strength on my very weak ankle. I can certainly recommend Aerowalkers." Many thanks. Z. Walden Hampshire

“I was introduced to Aerowalkers Foot Therapy product by Aerowalkers Limited, they sought my advice about the effect of prolonged sitting by elderly sedentary people.

I found that the use of Aerowalkers induced people to keep their feet and ankles moving with the result that circulation improved, muscle power increased and feet and ankle joints became more mobile.

This led to the realisation that Aerowalkers would be useful on long haul flights to reduce the risk of DVT which in turn led me to think that Aerowalkers could be used post operatively to combat the risk of DVT.

I have monitored the use of a pair of Aerowalkers on a patient following a severe fracture of the heel with resultant oedema, pain, loss of muscle power and joint range of movement and the results were favourable in reducing swelling, improving strength, aiding the healing process, and improving the range of mobility.” Lynn Weekes FCSP Fellow of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists

"I have found the idea of Aerowalkers non-invasive treatment remarkably effective in reducing oedematous swelling of the feet and lower legs. The pulsing action of the air chamber under the long arch appears to play a significant part in dispersing fluid build up in the feet.

Separately, the plantar pressure of the rocking action greatly improves the muscle tone of the feet and lower legs.

Hence combining the two mechanisms (pulsing & rocking actions) proved valuable in achieving the above." Dr. Yassir Alaaraji MBChB (Dublin) DCH (London) TGP

I first started to use the Aerowalkers 5 weeks after a serious ankle injury, Just as soon as I was out of plaster. I was not allowed to weight-bear at all so regaining fitness without weight-bearing was crucial. Because of slow healing operation scars each side of the ankle there was an exceptional amount of swelling that dramatically reduced movement range and also ability to withstand have my foot lowered from 'above heart level' and down on the floor.

The first time I used the Aerowalkers I was impressed with how good it felt to use. It was so easy to carry on 'automatically', I actually resented any interruption and couldn't wait to get back to it. It was wonderful to be able to use my ankle without restricting pain as my foot was supported. There was a slight tendency to wobble that was a marvellous start on strengthening the ankle against twisting, again without pain.

The next morning the swelling was massively reduced. That was the day I was to have a further operation and the lack of swelling made the whole thing easier and meant wound closure was complete (unlike the earlier operations) As an experiment I tried to mimic the movement without the Walker but it hurt and didn't feel good. In fact it didn't feel a safe movement to make. When I went for physiotherapy I was to discover just how much benefit I had got from the Aerowalkers, as the range of movement in my bad ankle was nearly the same as the good side. The physio was seriously amazed!

As I have a chronic illness affecting mobility and leading to stiffness and reduction of movement. I consider the Aerowalkers has probably been the sole reason I can now go downstairs normally! My gratitude to Aerowalkers is huge. C. Hatton Sussex UK

DVT Prevention using Aerowalkers as a healthy lifestyle choice

In the last two decades attitudes to physical fitness have changed from the early days of international “Health & Beauty” movements, to one where athletic performance standards are a goal of the fitness enthusiast.

A life style that includes a weekly work out at the gym or with a personal trainer is within the grasp of both young professional, and many senior citizens trying to manage fitness, stress, and general health.

Our population is ageing and this fitness mindset is also moving quickly up the age range as average mortality rates increases.

The number of people over 65 is currently 9 million and is projected to increase 12.5 million by 2020 as the baby boomers reach retirement age. The number over 75 is projected to increase at a faster rate from today’s 4.5 million to 9 million by 2050.

Today the number of people of pensionable age exceeds the number of children under 16. This age shift has a number of social implications.

The single overriding factor affecting the quality of life for these age groups is the ability to walk easily. It affects care needs, home, and social life.

Aerowalkers- a new product on the market helps exercise your extensor muscles and the arch vein pump within your instep. Regularly exercising the arch vein has a tremendous long-term impact for those health conscious people that wish to maintain an active life-style well into their retirement years.

The gentle pumping action helps to maintain muscle tone of your legs and feet.

Common to all fitness regimes is heightened muscular activity leading to muscle tension. Aerowalkers have a pronounced relaxing action on the feet and legs, which includes tension arising from prolonged standing.

In addition to the relaxation stimulated by Aerowalkers they are also designed to increase blood flow by compressing a vein; the “foot pump vein” in the arch of the foot. This vein prevents the pooling of de-oxygenated blood in the feet. The arch air chamber rhythmically applies pressure to the foot pump vein as the rocking action of the feet exercise the ankle, calf and thigh muscles.

The effect of reduced blood flow is most pronounced on long haul flights, the result of lower cabin air pressure and prolonged sitting. The most common symptom of this is the swelling of ankles and lower legs by a build up of lymphatic fluids. In addition, the pooling of de-oxygenated blood may lead to the development of deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

Analogously there is a similar phenomenon in the development of oedematous or swelling of the legs and feet in elderly sedentary people, the cause of which has been described as a “tired heart” leading to a lower blood flow between the heart and lower legs. This pooling leads to seepage of fluids into the surrounding tissue.

Finally, there is one last complaint, the dreaded G word. Gout. Aerowalkers offer comfort by helping to disperse the settlement of uric acid in the joints of the feet.

Better mobility is the result of improved circulation. Improving mobility is the key ingredient to helping people achieve a greater quality of life.

Aerowalkers is a product that can help improve general circulation. It is a simple and gentle self-prescribed therapy.
